Dollies to Dress Like Father and Mother
Paper Dolls

Dollies to Dress Like Father and Mother:

This set is called Dollies to Dress Like Father and Mother and are by Mary Nye Marshall.  They were published by The Platt S. Munk Company in 1917!  This is the front cover of the paper doll book with two of the dolls dressed up like, well, Father and Mother.

Here is the page of instructions that came with the original set of paper dolls.

This is a page of Teddy's brown suit and a coordinating yellow hat with brown trim.

This page is of Jane's evening coat and Jane's head dress.  The evening coat looks to be an orange red color (these are a bit faded) with a fur trim.  The head dress has like a wig with a feather sticking out and a beaded headband.

This page has Mary's party coat, which is an aqua blue color with white fur trim and gold clasps for holding it closed.

This page is Mary's morning dress.  It has a real Cinderella look about it to me.

This page is the Mary paper doll.

This is Mary's afternoon dress.  It looks like a red dress with a coat over it.

This page is the Teddy paper doll.  Read the instructions on how to put his stand together.

This page is Teddy's overcoat, which is a dark green with black wool trim.

This page is Teddy's Dress Suit, which is a real tuxedo complete with tails and a top hat.

This page has Jane's Dress and two separate hats she can use.  The dress is purple with green trim.  One of the hats is also purple and the other hat is black with a blonde wig attached, as well as pink flowers and a blue bow.

This page is Jane's Morning dress and Jane's hat.  The dress is green and white and the hat is also green and white.  Again, a blonde wig is attached to the hat.

This is the Jane paper doll.

This is an evening dress, but it is not clear which doll it is meant for as it does not have a name written on it as the others do.  This one is yellow and off white.

This is Jane's evening dress, which is black with white trim and a cute under dress that is tan with black highlights, as well as some pink roses on both the bodice of the dress and the lower dress.
