When I think of vintage paper dolls I think of paper dolls from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. You could probably include the eighties at this point, but that seems pretty recent to me, so I do not typically include the eighties when I think of vintage.
Paper dolls have been around for a long time and I think their popularity is still relevant today. People just love a cute paper doll.
You can find several sets of dolls for the various decades below:
I have also included sections on:
You can do many things with your printed doll sets. You can collect them. One of my favorite ways to store my collections is in a binder with sleeve protectors. I print the dolls out on heavier cardstock and the clothes on a nice weight regular bond paper. Then I cut them out and put each set into the protective sleeves. I can spend hours just going through these sets and looking at them. I am hoping some day to have a granddaughter who will enjoy playing with them.
I also like creating journals and I use A LOT of paper doll images in my journals. I mostly make journals to give away to friends and family, but I also sell some in my Etsy shop. You can see some of them in the side menu bar, but here are a couple of pages from some of my journals.
As you can see, sometimes I just cut them out and glue them to the page along with a spot for journaling. And sometimes I make a little pocket and tuck the doll and clothes in the pocket. The envelope below holds small pieces like shoes, hats, little pets and other miscellaneous items.
I have not added any 1970s paper dolls yet, but will be eventually doing so.
