Storybook Paper Dolls

I am not sure of the years of these Storybook Paper Dolls. I believe they are late 1950s or early 1960s. They are from Saalfield Artcraft publishing, #1740, and originally sold for 10 cents. I believe there are several versions of these same dolls that I have seen, usually with the names Heidi and Peter.

This first page is the cover of the book and has both the dolls in their costumes. I think the dolls that come later on the back cover are the actual dolls that you want to cut out and use to dress in the costumes.

Here is the actual back page with the two children to cut out and dress with the clothes.

This first page of clothes has two dresses for the little girl (Heidi) and one outfit for the little boy. The first dress is a blue and white checked dress, which also includes a matching hat. She is holding a basket of flowers in her arm with this dress. The little boy's (Peter's) outfit is a shorts outfit. Brown shorts with a yellow jacket over a green, white and black striped shirt. There is a matching yellow hat for this outfit. The other girl dress is a red dress with a white smock over it. The smock has hearts and flowers all over it. There is a matching red hat for this dress.

The next page of clothes for the storybook paper dolls starts with a yellow school dress with a blue and white smock over the top. She is holding a spelling book in her hand. There is a matching hat including. The boy has some nicker pants (brown with green checks and green trim), a white long-sleeved shirt and then a short-sleeved blue jacket over the top. There is even a red tie tucked into the jacket. And, of course, a matching hat. The other girl dress is very "Heidi" looking. Pink and blue with a brown vest trimmed in yellow.

The next page of clothes starts with a Little Red Riding Hood type of jacket for the girl and it includes a white muff with a red bow. The boy has two outfits on this page. First is another shorts set (blue shorts with a blue and white checked shirt) and yellow pockets, suspenders, buttons and trim, as well as a matching hat. This page also includes a winter outfit for the boy. A pair of blue pants and a red sweater with a hood.

This is the last page of clothes. For the little girl she has a nightgown in which she is holding a candle. There is a pink dress with white smock and matching hat. In this one she is holding a doll. For the little boy there are two short sets, both in blue and yellow with red trims.
