Hour of Charm Paper Dolls

The Hour of Charm paper dolls are based on the radio program with the same name, Hour of Charm, which featured an all girl orchestra and choir with Evelyn and her magic violin.  This set of paper dolls is from Saalfield Publishing from 1943.  As you can see above, they were quite charming!

The three dolls are Sparkling Vivien, the famous soprano, Demure Evelyn and her Magic Violin, and Beautiful Maxine, a rich contralto.  Here they are in some of their beautiful gowns.

Here are the three dolls, ready to be cut out and dressed in the many outfits you will find below!

These dolls would not be complete without their musical instruments!

Hour of Charm Paper Dolls Clothes:

This page of clothes is for Evelyn.  There is a long black evening dress with a gold bodice, which is so very elegant.  Then there is a gold skirt with a blue sweater top.  There is a green high necked blouse with a large jewel or button at the neck.  Then there is a brown jacket with gloves.  There is a Mexican dress with a yellow skirt and a donkey and man in sombrero around the bottom of it.  This coordinates with the blue blouse and the same motif on the sleeve.  She is holding a violin in this outfit.  Then there is a long pink robe tied at the waist.

This page includes a long yellow evening gown with white gloves.  There is also a purple shirt dress and a tennis outfit.  There is a long green evening gown with long sleeves, and there is a white pink coat with black globes and a handbag.  There is also a headpiece with flowers on it that probably goes with the yellow dress, but could also go with the green one or even the Mexican dress from the previous page.

This page of clothes is for Maxine.

This page of clothes is for Vivien.  Here is a long, pink gown that is basically sleeveless but with a see-through pink wrap.  She is holding a bouquet of flowers with a blue ribbon that matches her gloves.  There is also a plaid coat.  There is a long, blue gown that is very sophisticated.  There is a green skirt with a red blouse and pearls at the neck.  To "go over that" is a green jacket with white lace sleeves and red gloves and purse.
